And because Christ welcomes you, we welcome you! The Christian Church in Waitsburg is a Touchet River Valley community church, welcoming persons from all over the southeast corner of Washington State. We are blessed to have been formed by God's Spirit into a continually-growing fellowship--vibrant in worship, sincere in fellowship, and challenged in ministry and outreach in a personal, relational way. We are part of the Church in the valley growing into deeper spiritual relationships of united prayer and fellowship with other congregations.
We are blessed to worship in a sanctuary made beautiful by God's provision and many devoted hands and hearts. For more than 120 years, the Christian Church in Waitsburg has been blessed to be a living temple formed and re-formed by God's spirit to bring the life-giving and healing message of God's love in Jesus Christ. We welcome you to worship with us in worship Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. and to join a spiritual growth group on Sundays at 9:30 a.m. More importantly, we greet you as you are, to join us on the spiritual journey of Christian discipleship. We seek spiritual revival and growth in our personal lives, families, and in the whole Church.
Welcome! |

The Guess Who Is Coming to Dinner groups had their first event on November 8, 2009. Marilyn and I had the privilege of hosting Pat Largent, Delbert Mock, Mike Ferrians, Melissa Ferrians, and Mary Helen Lovett. Our potluck dinner was a light but tasty meal of soup, salad, bread, and desserts. We provided two different kinds of soups. Mary Helen brought a wonderful fresh salad. Pat brought homemade dinner rolls. Delbert treated us to one of his homemade apple pies. Mike and Melissa made it pie ala mode by bringing the homemade vanilla ice cream.

Plaza Dinner Geusts
When people come to the Plaza, many ask about the remodel. So, that was one of the topics of discussing for the evening. One of the interesting discoveries while reupholstering the seats in the Plaza was finding old coins wedged between the seat and the support brackets. Pastor Mike is studying some of the old coins in the photo above.
Marilyn and I would like to offer special thanks to Pam Conover and Cindy Philbrook for their work in organizing this event. We would like to encourage them to do it again. |

January 20--
The Supreme Court recently refused to hear arguments in an appeal by the mother of a Philadelphia public school student who lost in Circuit Court. Her son's class did an assignment called "All About Me." Each student's parents were invited to read or present "a talent, short game, small craft, or story" about their child. One of the things the kid drew on his poster was a picture of a church. Since the child obviously expressed his faith (or, to be more precise, the faith he is being brought up in), it was a natural for his mother to choose something from the Bible to present as representative of her son. She conscientiously chose five verses from Psalm 118 which do not mention Jesus and which, she hoped, would not bring a knee-jerk reaction from school officials. She was wrong.
